The Big Bang Theory

When I first heard the news that Stephen Hawking was dead, it almost felt like a shockwave hit me. He was 96 years old.

He was the most incredible scientist the world has ever seen. Why? The answer is clear: he was something called an Astrophysicist. A scientist.

An astrophysicist is a scientist that looks up into the stars. It doesn’t matter when, or where. The stars were mystifying at night. So beautiful, so many things to constantly count. Until one day, those stars went dark.

When Stephen Hawking was born, he was a visionary. Sure, the kids picked on him, called him a nerd. In fact, it didn’t bother him at all. For he had a dream in his head that he couldn’t stop seeing. When you dream, anything is possible in your head. You imagine things, daydream, and the ideas simply come to life.

I’m a writer. Not that it matters, but just like Stephen Hawking, I had a dream. One thing we have in common is that we are extremely shy people. You’ve seen those nerds before. Always wearing black, making ugly faces, but no one knew that someone out there was secretly, secretly judging them. Jealously? Hah! I think not.

Miguel had a dream to become a musician. His family, however, banned music ever since his great, great grandmother started the trend after she was betrayed by her own husband. He focused on his music career more than his own family it seemed, and when he left her and their daughter, Coco, the mother got rid of all music in the house and raised their daughter on her own. Ever since, the family despised music–however, Miguel wasn’t going to give up his passion.

Out of 5 stars, this definitely deserves a full 5. Charming, funny, suspenseful–this movie was amazing. The people who created this movie worked hard to provide something as wonderful and eye-catching as this. You can tell that every detail was made with heart, and every word in the script was written with soul. Coco was made with pure passion. I highly recommend this incredible, cinematic experience!

Trolls Movie Review – Why I watched this movie over 3 times

Yes, I know this is a kid’s movie. BUT–it is such a great movie that it just lifts my spirits every time I watched it. It’s colorful and silly, yet it has room to teach us about our basic human emotion–happiness.

The main plot is about a world where two creatures exist–small ones called trolls, who love to sing, dance, hug and just be happy, and big ones called bergens, who are relatively miserable creatures that don’t know how to be happy on their own. One day, bergens discovered that they can be happy by eating trolls. Thus, the bergens captured the trolls’ tree, where all the trolls lived, and once a year they held a festivity called trollstice to eat trolls. However, on one trollstice day, the trolls escape and the royal cook responsible for conducting the feast is banished from Bergen Town. Twenty years later, the trolls are rediscovered, and some get captured. It is up to Princess Poppy, the heir to the throne of Troll Village, and Branch, one troll who doesn’t want to be happy, to save their friends from the bergens.

Out of 5 stars, I give this movie a full 5. Read below to see why~

Gentle warning: there are some mild spoilers and hints, but I promise to be as vague as possible.
