Cody and the Itch Monsters–Help Would Be Amazing!

Video of this campaign is available! (This is how bad the scratching can be…)

This is Cody–my adorable, mixed American Shorthair. At first, he developed a terrible bacterial infection in both ears, which caused severe itching and scratching. Eventually, he’s developed what’s called a hematoma in his left ear (a flap of skin that collected blood over time caused by extensive scratching and shaking of the head).

If you’d like to make a donation to fix his ear, click here or click directly above on the “Feeling generous?” menu item. If you’d like to learn more, click continue below.

This is his left ear with the hematoma in it. As you can see, it has disfigured his ear.

This is his other ear. If you look closely, you can see the black residue that’s developed as a bacterial infection.

I’ve taken him to the vet twice since this happened, making me pay about $250-$300 out of pocket for special ointments for his ears, but that wasn’t enough. The vet needs to drain and stitch his ear, which would cost around $1500, plus $1000 for shots he’s missed out on the last few years, and the cost of the prescription ointments he would need to treat the bacterial infection.
I feel the sooner I can get these funds, the better it would be to help save his ear.

This would help so much, as I can’t afford these expensive costs to the vet, and if he happens to get any funds left over after the visit to the vet to help with his ears, I’ll buy him a toy, kitty furniture, and some treats! :3
